I am a first timer at this and a VW novice, so bear with me!!!!!!!

The fuel guage on my 1979 bay window camper does not work Crying or Very sad The guage is OK. So I have been told that the next step is to cut an access panel into the van to access the sender unit in the fuel tank. I have got the measurements to tell me where to make the hole but can anyone tell me how much space is there between the panel & the tank so that I do not do any damage whilst making the hole. Any help would be much appreciated,Thanks

We were thinking of using a jigsaw if there was enough space, otherwise I am not sure. I have the day off work tomorrow, I will let you know how we get on. Smile
