Nice colours too

When it was first painted it was very orange but hopefully that has been softened a little with the brown tinware. Wanting to put the whole thing together now!!!!!!

Here are some more picks of the progress.

Windows are now in and were an arse to fit. Rear windows have a brown tint to them to tie in with the brown/orange theme. Very Happy

Maybe not the best pic to show this but the bug has been fitted with disc front brakes (calipers not fitted yet as it needs spacers to avoid fouling on the rims) with 2 1/2" dropped spindles.

And most importantly the engine is now in Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy. Still needs work but at least its in the right place and lookin sweet.

Thanks out to Carlos as he was pivotal in getting this done and had the patience of saint putting up with me 'helping'!!! Laughing Laughing

Made a bit more progress on it this week.

Wings are now fitted and thought there are no picture to support it the doors have been put together (probably the most difficult bit thus far, lots of little bits that look fragile). Bumpers on and front lights fitted. Still lots to do but I feel like progress has been made Very Happy Very Happy . Big thanks to Wayne and Carlos, always good to have an expert at hand.

Still sitting too high in my opinion, even on the dropped spindles. Need to find a cheep easy way of getting it lower still. Any suggestions?

This is the beetle that they sprayed for me, its was kicking around there for a while whilst I was prepping it for paint. I know the guys there and they helped me out with the whole bodywork process, which was more complicated than I thought. Its moved round the corner now so that I can put it together.

I thought it was. When I was up there it looked like a full on proper job and no imperfections anywhere, so well done mate and I hope to see it around soon. I enquired about having my bug done with them too but it seemed like it was just going to be a spray job and have done. They had no interest in it and didnt seem like they would offer any help with anything else, plus they where really expensive. I may be wrong but I found somebody else who is working with me and hopefully all will be well. Steve

Having looked at all the pics of your bug, I think your doing a great job.

Steve. Wink

ps. I've thought of a name for it. You should call it "Terry" as in Terrys Chocolate Orange, but be careful you don't tap the roof too hard Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sadly there are a few imperfections (one quite significant one Embarassed, which hopefully I will hide as best as possible), it has been a steep learning curve but luckily I have had Carl and Wayne on hand to help when required. With regards to the paint work, it has been done as more of a favor and has been squeezed in when there was a time slot.

Have not updated on this for a while. It has been slow progress sorting the wiring and putting in the interior. Now only have a multitude of little jobs to do. The engine is running and we are sooooooo close to getting it on the road. Very Happy Very Happy

Again big thanks to Carlos, your help has been hugely appreciated. Cool
