Beetle Butchery

What happens when you find a bug for £30 add the stupidity of a left handed ginger and the mad enthusiasm of Carl? The answer?

Most of what we needed came with this rusty 1303. What didn't we had in stock. Not looking particularly good and after a day of fun it looks worse!!!

You firstly need a grinder and a handful of cutting discs. The beauty of the the bug costing £30 is that there was nothing to loose if it went wrong!

Carl had some Bay bits in stock. The rule of measure a bit, talk a bit about measuring and how over-rated it is, followed by some good old fashioned cutting was the rule we lived by. The cab is currently very loosely mocked up and over the next few will be taken off, reinforced in preparation for a proper fitting

Finally we chopped off some more rusty metal

We even have a touch of sunburn!
More to come tomorrow :)

Bit more of an update for y'all.

Didn't need this bit any more
Image

Anyone want to buy some bits?
Image

Still need to do some fettling, but the long nose bonnet almost fits the 1303!
Image

Now time to attack the rust free and solid floor. Not much to do here fortunately!
