bit of tinkering today as had the day off

Them Piston ring compressors are worth all they cost would of been at it for hours
Image

New main bearing shells fitted, big ends are fine.
Image

Had been round the whole block with the Tap set to ensure all the threads clean
Image

Big ends & Main bearings all torqued to spec as well as thoroughly lubed during assembly
Image

Now getting on with fettling me valves, bedding them in takes ages.

Ok been in the garage today
managed to get more of the engine put together than I thought I could with the seals that are missing
even though it was a tad chilly in the garage
Image
Head on & bolted down, Them Bolts have to go Real Tight
But fortunately I didn't need my scaffold Pole.

At least I know where my timing marks are without a Flywheel & bell housing.
Just need to find all the bolts but some will be in the van already so changed back when re-fitting occurs.

Next to see Regcheesman about Pump rebuild/recon so it don't Pi55 diesel every where 5 mins after fitting.

Thanks to Regcheeseman for a Dizzy pump rebuild

Dizzy now fitted a 2nd time after I realised its easier to fit the Glow plugs &
Injectors with it off. Just Torqued the CrankPulley bolt 90nm +90'
Hoping to fit timing belt Monday evening

Then have to re-arrange the garage to get the engine at the right end.

Getting there eventually

Ok looking little further tonight.

Pump attachet & Gates Timing belt kit fitted.
Image

Timed up easy enough every thing stayed where I set it.
Manually cranked it over and no Clunks or Crunchy bits.

Need to prep the van soon for the impending Donation!
