(Unless you're reading this Carl, in which case, it's so small that it's not worth testing)

Carl wanted the front seatbelts out of one of our Subarus that I was stripping. Passed him one, we had a butterfingers moment and the (tiny) pretensioner unit fired as it hit the ground

Scared the crap out of both of us!!!!

Finally, some visual progress! All the conversion kit has now arrived - £800-worth of replacement sump and some pipework from the States (yes, that is a ridiculous price) and £1200-worth of replacement bellhousing, input shaft, WRX turbo clutch and engine brace-bar from RJES "up North" (not quite such a ridiculous price, but still lots of money) are here.

So, I took a couple of brave pills this evening and made a start on the conversion :)
First things first - replace the VW bellhousing with the RJES Subaru-friendly one:
Image

Can you tell where the new bits start and the old gearbox ends?!
Image

I've also managed to "trim the fat" from the engine bay and actually found the bit I need to remove!
Image

And a way to get it out without using a hoist - cut the front of the car off
Image

Hopefully I'll complete the gearbox conversion tomorrow, with the clutch release arm, then it's time to finally pull the engine - woohoo!!!!
